Philosophy

Students from three-year-olds to seniors enjoy piano at Yumi Piano School. Together we make lovely sounds and lovely smiles. I started my school to share with many people how wonderful and joyful it is to play the piano.

Many different kinds of people with many different reasons for studying piano come to my school. They may want to study as a hobby, or they may need to study to pass the entrance exam for a music high school or university.

However, there is one commonality among all my students: they want to enjoy music. At Yumi Piano School, we care about that feeling the most.

I carefully teach correct technique in order to help my students play pieces the way they want. However, technique is not as important as enjoying the music. By practicing technique, we can learn to love music more deeply.

The experiences we gain through music can be taken into other aspects of life. This means that music can polish our inner beauty and make it shine!
